Fantastic analysis, and such a balm to my mind, for you to put into words so eloquently what I have only formulated in the shadows of my mind. One little note.. You say

"To this end, we are focused on the content of the Covid certificates without being aware of the “structural changes in our affairs” that follow with them. We turn vaccines into a socio-political signifier, along with insults and condescension, holding a match under the tinder of a segment of society that is growing increasingly angry. " My only interjection to this is that I see people who are not angry, though that would be the stereotype presented from the outside. I see people who are puzzled and frightened and trying really hard to maneuver around the arrogance that has allowed most people to buy into not just he idea of public enforcement through shame, but the whole 'trust the science' thing, as if science is not an ongoing ever transforming body of knowledge based on many principles which has at it's core a lot of questioning of assumptions. It isn't surprising to me that the ones entrenched in their decision to avoid this particular vaccine would be thinking about it deeply, and accepting the consequences despite harassment, ridicule and defamation. Thank you for putting your helpful thoughts to paper.

Thanks very much for your thoughtful feedback. I agree with you -- The people I refer to as "angry" are more complex, and you really filled in the right detail. I was flattered when you said that I was able to articulate what had "formulated in the shadows of your mind." I've read a few excellent essays on this topic that have left me with the same feeling. It is a relief when someone can help you understand something you "know" but can't put into words. It means a lot to me that I was able to do that. With that in mind, here is a beautiful essay by Charles Eisenstein that connected with something I could feel on instinct. His observations are soothing in his understanding of the historical contexts of human and societal behavior.

Thanks, glad you pointed to the Charles Eisenstein piece to sketch some of the evolution of how you arrived where you are. I'd read Charles' beautiful essay, and have really appreciated and admired how he has navigated this historical time with so much integrity and grace. Rare indeed. Even so, my thought was that you were shining light a unique quadrant I'd not witnessed before. I am grateful you were inspired by his thoughts and that you illuminated yours.

Bravo, and welcome to Substack! Thank you for joining the resistance—to tyranny, to lunacy, to mass hypnosis, to pharmaceutical drug cartel propaganda masquerading as “The Science.”

Your reference to Marshall McLuhan’s The Medium Is the Message calls to mind this artistic audiovisual collage featuring the 1968 LP:

Thanks for your comment and for reading my piece, I appreciate it. I listened to a bit of that link you added. I was always curious to know what that record was like. It's so 1960s!

Great article! I just want to put my own arguments however for Covid passports.

I just want to say the minute people are getting jabbed with vaccines, we are already participants in a social order experiment regardless of the existence of Covid passport or certificates.

Also regarding the medium is the message. Since Covid passports are announced in the public, I say even forget the debate about Covid passport, the message has been conveyed already about how vaccination rates is impacting the health of people that incurs serious government measures.

Also France did introduce a Covid passport, and it is shown it did help propel vaccination rates ( to a point). See article from Wired UK: www.wired.co.uk/article/france-vaccine-passport-health-pass

Finally, as I understand, BC or Ontario’s passport were just recently introduced. Maybe the data does not support encouragement of people to get vaccinated but perhaps later over time do we know how effective BC or Ontario’s Covid passport work in encouraging people to get vaccinated?
